While we were up in Nottingham for BUSA and the Junior Inter-Regionals in May 2003, we dropped into Ray Sims' workshop to see how the new pair and four for Weybridge RC were coming along.
A new eight for Trinity College Dublin being fitted out (middle), with the new Weybridge RC four next in line (on the right, towards the door).
The new four viewed from the stern. The view we hope most of our opposition will become familiar with.
All underseat compartments are fully sealed (hatch fittings haven't yet been installed).
View of stroke's position. The wiring loom for the rate meter is built in, so the sensor for the seat magnet will be out of sight, and (most importantly) there is no need to drill holes in the sealed compartments to pass wires through.
Laying up the carbon fibre for the new pair.
Moulds for the decking.
Moulds for the seats.
Finishing touches for the stern.
Moulds for the bow and stern "canvasses".
More work on the pair.
Finishing touches and strengthening for the bows.
Laying the closed-cell foam core.
Using a nylon sheet to stop the vacuum forming bag from sticking to the core.
